CAT/SP – News n. 44 – Air quality worsened in Spain in 2017

Air quality worsened in Spain in 2017 as a result of the economic recovery, so last year a total of 45 million people, 97% of the population, breathed contaminated air, according to Ecologists in Action.

In its report ‘Air Quality in the Spanish State during 2017’, the NGO claims that 88% of the national territory was exposed to unhealthy levels of pollution.

The study has analyzed data from 800 official measurement stations and for the first time includes information on state ports and concludes that the economic recovery has contributed to worsen air quality in Spain.
