is the oldest preserved dramatic text in the Slovene language. It was written by the Capuchin Romuals in 1721. His manuscript is kept at the Capuchin monastery. Because of its originality and its significance, it has been publicized as a living masterpiece of national importance. Last year it was registered in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is the oldest preserved drama in Slovene and the oldest preserved European directing book, the only one from the Baroque. At the same time, the Škofja Loka Passion is the largest theater performance in the open air in Slovenia. It has over 800 actors, and more than 200 people, which participate in the organization. All actors act for free.
